Want to lead a session at ND27?

Hey there,

Here's something two years of NeuroDiversion has taught us: the sessions people talk about afterward almost never come from booking agents or professional speakers.

They come from someone in this community who knew something useful and was willing to stand up and share it. So now we're asking directly.

We expect to host more than 80 sessions at ND27, and most will be led by attendees. Sessions are a major part of the whole event.

Note: sessions don't have to be about being neurodivergent. They do need to teach or show something, but the subject matter is wide open! A few examples of non-ND topics that could be interesting:

  • Making a zine or publishing a book
  • Negotiating a salary
  • Running a short-attention-span meeting
  • Or anything else that you're into!

You don't need a speaking reel, and you don't need to have done this before. In short, if you know how to do something and can walk a room through it, that's a session.

How it works: You submit a proposal. Proposals that make the shortlist go on a public ballot, attendees vote for what they want to see, and the sessions with the most support make the program.

Two things worth knowing:

  1. Round-one proposals close Wednesday, October 14.
  2. You don't need to have your ticket yet to propose a session—but every presenter needs to be registered for ND27 by the time sessions are confirmed.
  3. Community choice is one part of programming. Our team also considers topic balance, different kinds of sessions, representation, and room for new voices.

By the way—if you're not going to propose something yourself, you might know someone who should. Forward this note to them so they can think about it.

Yours in session-ing,

Chris & the ND Team

P.S. And that's not all! We also have a format to suggest meetups and two-minute stories from the main stage. We'll open proposals for those in January.

P.P.S. Already submitted a session proposal for ND27? Great! We have it and you don't need to resubmit. We'll follow-up with you individually before the voting process opens.

Hey there, First, an important note: if you're not thinking about coming to ND27, hang tight. This is the last ticket email you'll get until January, and then we're back to the usual. But if you've been thinking about it—today's the day. Register for ND27 Here's what that means, plainly: Until 11:59pm Central tonight: ND27 costs $497 per ticket, which is $200 off the regular price. After that, we close ticket sales entirely and reopen in early January without the discount. There's no way to...

Hey there, Round one of session proposals for ND27 closes later today, and I wanted to show you some of what's come in. Consider this a reminder to submit something if you've been thinking about it! 🙂 Propose a Session Nearly every session at ND27 is led by someone in this community — people who know something useful and are willing to stand up and share it. Here's a small sample from round one. (Note: these are just the titles of a few sessions; once we move to the community voting round,...

Early-bird registration for ND27 closes on Friday, October 16 (or sooner if we sell out). Hey there, A month before our first event in 2025, a reader wrote to ask whether they should come. Here's what they said: “ I'm a bit older than what I imagine as your typical reader, and I'm also not sure I'm 'neurodivergent', although I've certainly been wondering lately, especially after reading about adult ADHD. Do you think this is something I should come to? That note made me realize I'd been...
